At 226ERS, we are not only passionate about sports nutrition, but also about being part of the journey of those who give their all in each stage. ToggleBuff Megamo: victories in key stages
The Buff Megamo team has had a remarkable participation in this edition of the Cape Epic. In the second stage, a 66 km individual time trial, Wout Alleman and Martin Stošek surprised by taking the victory with a time of 2:13:05, beating favorites such as Nino Schurter and Filippo Colombo. This performance allowed them to position themselves favorably in the general classification and demonstrate their ability to compete at the highest level. On the other hand, the team formed by José Dias and Pablo Rodríguez Guede also left their mark by winning a stage victory, consolidating the team’s dominant presence in the competition.
Cannondale ISB Sport: dominance in the women’s category
The Cannondale ISB Sport women’s team, composed of Monica Calderon and Tessa Kortekaas, had an outstanding performance with two stage wins and two second places. Their performance led them to finish a creditable fourth overall in the women’s classification, just two minutes off the podium. This result underlines their tenacity and competitive spirit throughout the race.
Orbea Factory Team: leadership in the Grand Masters category
The Orbea Factory Team, composed of Ibon Zugasti and Kaare Aagaard, showed their experience and consistency from the start of the competition. During the prologue, they dominated in the Grand Masters category, setting a precedent for the following stages. Although they faced challenges throughout the race, and were unable to finish the competition, their performance reaffirmed their position as leading contenders in their category.
Klimatiza Orbea: consistency and outstanding performance
The Klimatiza Orbea team, composed of Samuele Porro and Marc Stutzmann, showed a consistent performance throughout the competition. They achieved a fourth place in the prologue and maintained a solid performance in the following stages, finishing tenth overall in the men’s classification. Their performance reflects a combination of experience and determination in one of the most challenging races in the world.
