Spaniard Jorge Martín makes MotoGP history becoming 2024 World Champion in a season full of excitement and tension. The Spanish pilot, who competes for the Ducati Pramac Racing team, was crowned at the Solidari Motul Grand Prix in Barcelona.
The rematch, as the final battle between Jorge Martín and Pecco Bagnaia was defined by the organiser, replicated the same duel than last year but with a different outcome.
Barcelona’s Solidari Motul Grad Prix had other emotional moments, starting with an sentimental minute’s silence in honour of the victims of the DANA. Additionally, Aleix Espargaró will hang his racing suit as a permanent World Championship rider on Monday. With the rider barely able to hold back his tears, the spectators gave the home rider an emotional farewell applause encouraged by the announcer. A charged prelude to what was to come.
